Chapter 2: The Big Check-Up

~Susie's P.O.V~
I told my friends and teacher about the news of my Mommy having a baby and me being a big sister soon and they were very happy about the news, mostly Luca, who I know is the closest to Mommy! He asked a lot of questions about the baby, what if the baby is a boy or a girl, and what would the baby look like, but I told him that I didn't know much about the baby yet since it'll be in my Mommy's tummy for a while, though Pink Birds are pregnant for about three months so we both have plenty of time to wait.

Luca had been very eager about the baby all day. In fact, he even gave me a pink butterfly plush that he had at the first time Mommy and her friends met him, which was very nice of him and I'm sure the baby will love it, no matter if it's a boy or a girl!

~Stella's POV~
I just went to Dr. Dahlia's to have a check-up with me and the baby while have an ultrasound to check if the baby is healthy. She did check on the baby by scanning on my belly and yes, the baby does look healthy though the gender of it is unknown since it'll take about a couple more weeks for its private parts to develop.

Dahlia told me that the little one is happy and healthy and I should come back for another ultrasound to take the baby's gender. I thanked her and left her office, saying "Goodbye then!" to her as she wished me good luck and health for me and my family.

As I got home, I decided to pass the time by reading one of Susie's favourite fairytale books so the baby can hear me read from my womb, even though it's only several weeks old even though it's growing so dang fast and, oh boy, do I look huge! Well, that's one thing about pregnant Pink Birds for you!

~Chuck's P.O.V~
I just told Red and rest of my buddies that Stella is pregnant with our second baby and they were pretty happy about the news that Stella told me yesterday. Red congratulated me since he was proud of me, The Blues were laughing and just being fun-loving kids, and Bomb was pretty happy too since he and Matilda are expecting their first baby. Plus, Matilda showed her own congratulations to me by hugging me, like she always does to anyone she knows when they have good news! As for Terence, he just did nothing but stare at me and smile. Been there, done that.

Luckily, none of them gave me something stupid like a cigar or something like that since that won't be good for the health of either Susie or the baby. Instead, Red gave me some chocolate for me and Stella, Matilda gave me a little plant that is blooming pink flowers, Bomb let me have a cuddly spider toy (since he and Matilda already have about a couple of those) and The Blues gave me a golden-coloured teddy bear wearing a dark blue top hat and bowtie which used to belong to them when they were babies. I thanked my friends with my gifts as I went on my way.

As I got home with the gifts my friends gave me, I decided to do some observation on the teddy bear that The Blues gave me. I may be mistaken, but this bear could be blind since I can't see its eyes, just empty black sockets. Probably one of the Blues accidentally lost its eyes when they were babies. But since I'm like a repairman with toys, I decided to sew in some big blue eyes in the "sockets" so when the baby sees it, it won't freak out. Like my mom always says, if something is broken, get the right tools to fix it!

~Normal P.O.V~
Later that afternoon, Chuck picked up Susie from preschool since 3:00pm is home-time at Piggy Island Preschool as Stella is in the master bedroom, petting Twinkie while playing Angry Birds Fight on her iPad as she uses her belly as an iPad stand. Chuck went upstairs to check on Stella as Susie was in her room. "How's the baby, Stelly?" he asked. Stelly was a nickname Chuck gave to Stella since they began dating. "The baby's doing great, Chuckie!" she purred happily as Chuck rubs Stella's belly. "Is there anything I can do for you, honey?" Chuck asked Stella. "Well, me and the baby are getting pretty hungry." she purred hungrily. "Can I some pizza and onion rings?" "Sure." he smiled. "What type of pizza do you like?" "Veggie pizza!" she squeaked happily. "Okay, one big veggie pizza and a batch of onion rings coming right up!" he said as he rushed downstairs to make Stella's craving meal.

Susie went into her parents room, climbed onto the bed, and sat next to her mom and Twinkie. "Hey, Mommy!" she squealed. "Hey, Susie." Stella smiled as she petted Susie's head. "I've heard that Daddy is making some pizza and onion rings for you and the baby! Can I have some too?" "Of course you can, Susie! After all, there is plenty of love for you and the baby and you are going to be a big sister soon!" "YAY!" Susie squealed with delight as Chuck came upstairs with a huge vegetable pizza and big batch of onion rings. "Here you go, Stella honey." he smiled as he placed the food on the table on Stella's side of the bed. He sees Susie on the bed, petting Twinkie. "Are you doing okay, Susie?" he asked as he petted his daughter's hair. "I'm fine, Daddy!" she smiled. "I'm sharing that pizza with Mommy! Is that okay with you?" "Sure it's okay with you, princess." he said to his little daughter. "If you girls need me, I'll be preparing the nursery for the baby." Chuck went into an empty room that was going to be the nursery for the baby as Stella & Susie shared the pizza and onion rings together as they watch their favourite cartoon shows on TV.

"Mommy," Susie asked her mommy as she ate her half of the food. "Is the baby going to be a boy or a girl?" "Well, you'll just have to wait, dear." Stella replied as she and Susie ate their dinner as Chuck worked on the nursery for the upcoming addition of the family.
